Receiving the OC on DVD was probably the best gift ever.

And here I am in the bathroom of a Holiday Inn Express in San Francisco.
Because my sister wanted to sleep. And the light from the laptop was too bright.

South San Francisco: The Industrial City. Wow, California. There wasn't anything
else you could subtitle San Francisco with? Not even "South San Francisco: We
Have Some Ginormous White Letters On the Side of a Hill?"

My momma!

We went to Costco and we drank Snapple the ENTIRE vacation.
I can tell you so many fun facts from the caps.

Bird party.

We drove around San Francisco listening to the Royal Tenenbaums soundtrack.
It was highly fitting and jazzy.

Hilly. Yep. That is San Francisco for you.

I love these trees. Sorry for the angled picture!

Aw, this dog was just sitting on the corner of the jewelry store (the owner of the
store is also the owner of this dog). It was so cute.

Speaking of cute... sigh...

I think this picture best displays my grasp of what most people call
"common knowledge," and my lack of it. Next time, Nels,
put the window DOWN before you try and take a picture of the Golden Gate bridge.

My sister, my dad, and I sitting near the Golden Gate Bridge.

Paulina, Papa.
Fake Captions:
Paulina: "And so, uh, like, I was thinking, huh huh, that I should run around
and try and get the Japanese tourists to join me in a game of ping pong."
Papa: "Oh, Paulina. You're Dutch, remember? You're good for farming
and making delicious chocolate products and cheese. Those elongated
limbs of yours are too sluggish for quick and adept ancient ping pong practices."
Paulina: "Hokay."
(JUST KIDDING, GUYS, I LOVE BOTH THE DUTCH AND THE JAPANESE
AND WE ARE NOT ONLY GOOD FOR FARMING AND CHEESE AND CHOCOLATE,
I'LL HAVE YOU KNOW.)

Ma, Pa, sister.

Paulina was cold.

Nellie (thinking): Hahahaha, this one's going on the internet.
Paulina: I BET I CAN SCRUNCH MY FACE UP MORE THAN YOURS!

I love this picture because the little binoculars look like an android or a robot or something
looking back at Paulina.

And this kind of looked like a graveyard. Ahh, the blurry out of focus shots.

Paulina stole my mom's coat.

PANORAMA

Later that night, we traveled to Davis, California, which pretty much is the
Champaign-Urbana of California. Cornfields. Engineers. Also, an
awesome Greek restaurant where my mom, dad, sister, cousin Carlos,
aunt and uncle Bonnie and Ted, and my surrogate adopted grandparents,
Dick and Dolly Clark.

Yes, that does say pants. I had an artichoke and feta cheese pizza. Yermmm.

My head on the left, my cousin Carlos' head in front. We were playing the Sims 2
in our hotel room in Davis.

Thanks to wireless internet connection in our hotel room, we did not
leave the room very often. I think the internet truly can be attributed
to me and Paulina's fantastic social lives. Sarcasm? What?

Ah. Much love for the Sims 2.

In-N-Out Burger in Davis!

We went thrift shopping and we saw these two poodles.
It was so unsettling, because I thought they were driving the car.

Christmas Eve's dinner at my aunt&uncle Sally and Andy's house.

Andy, Sally, my cousin Leslie.

Cousin Willlam, uncle Ted, Paulina, me. It might look like I'm boozing it up,
but that in fact is Martinelli's Sparkling Apple Cider, which was far more
delicious, in my opinion.

Dick, Papa.

Ah, the running joke in our family is to constantly hand off this megaphone
my aunt Bonnie used in high school. So we disguise it every year. This year: Angel theme.

Leslie, Paulina, me.

You can probably tell that I was the one who suggested the rubber gloves as hands idea.
I tried to blow the hands up so then they would be more realistically 3-D, but
that didn't work out so much.

Carlos, Paulina.

My uncles and my cousin Carlos examine the computer games.

Sooooooo photogenic.
